A BRIEF OPERATIONS MANUAL


- " THE BASICS YOU HAVE TO KNOW AS A NOR - PILOT " -

NORDIC AIR (NOR/NA) would like that You to take a short glance at these basic rules, that will ensure
operations both four You and us to be as REAL as possible and at the same time FUN for all involed parties.

FLYING FOR NOR AND MEMBERSHIP
Our unique concept has three main basics: " Fly with ATC, Fly with an FPL and Freedom of flight choice " . First You have two options of membership. 1) Membership in Flight Line Club; You will be send weekly rosters as in real airlines, the flights are all consecutive; and You will have some extra info in addition to our monthly news bulletin. In addtion You have every month possible of winning the pilot-of-the-month contest. 2) Just choose Yourself the flights and report them, You will get only the monhtly newsbulletin. Second we will provide You with a real FPL, often such as used on the actual flights. This we can do as our president has logged many many hours as flight-observer. Third You choose Your flight from whatever operations center (memebership option 2, but also practicable to rosters in club, You do not get back " home ever day " ) and in whatever direction You want, the only thing which matters is that we do not have two pilots simultaneously flying the same flight with VATSIM. Thatīs why we want You to register Your assignment.

Membership is free to any who regard him/herself able to fly with VATSIM provided ATC-control, but it is not a requirement, You can fly Your flights also in " stand-alone " mode. We allthough wish You have some navigation skills, but if You do not, we will be glad to train You in that interesting matter. So just sign-up and start to have at Your desk worldwide fun with NOR.


ASSIGNMENTS AND PILOT FLIGHT REPORTS (PIREP) IN VATSIM/NON-CLUB MEMBERS
When You have decided what flight or flights You want to fly,You just click in the Schedules or Aircraft rotation sections on the e-mail button, and formulate freely four main things in Your e-mail: Your name and PID , which You will get after registration as member ( see page: JOIN ) ,Your email You want the confirmation sent to, and the flight with flying date and estimated real connecting-time on VASTIM (if applicable) in ZULU- hours or LOCAL, with info from what city & country You are joining the session. For pilot reports see next chapter !

WHAT WE WANT YOU TO DO TO GET THE FLIGHT AS REAL AS POSSIBLE AND PIREP-RULES
To get as REAL and as FUN as possible, we would like You to fly the flights according to the FPLs and with airliners shown in the timetable. If You do not have the airliners or the accurate sceneries, please download them from our site or any mentioned site at our Downloads-page. As we are going to renew our fleet this autumn we will be glad if You could download then the whole fleet and use that airliner which is indicated in the Aircraft rotation - Flight Index section. Also we would like You if flying with VATSIM to download the latest sceneries, not only for Your own fun, but due to the fact that the Controllers might direct You on taxiways which otherwise You might not see!

We would aslo be glad if You could file in an Flight-report (PIREP) in a freely forumlated e-mail stating 1) Your PID and NAME, 2) the DATE, 3) the FLIGHT-NUMBER and from WHERE TO WHERE You did actually flew 4) actual BLOCK-HOURS (thatīs from stand-still to stand-still), and 5) if You flew with VASTIM and how many block-hours You flew with ARTCC Sweden and Finland and only when applicable 6) if it was a fly-in You particpated in (then Your call-sign must be reported). These small pieces of information which we wish are not too much required will accumulate Your flight hours and i.e You can be eligible for the " Pilot of the Month " -title (Flight Line club only). It will help also us to serve You better, we will i.e know where we need more flights and which flights are not popular, all this to be able to serve You better in this worldwide simulated airline environment.Club members are requested to send a PIREP negociatble every week, every second, or once a month


FLY-INīS AND NON-SCHEDULED FLIGHTS
We would like to encourage You to take part in fly-ins or otherwise also fly, if Youdo not find a suitable flight, as a test- or birdge/equipment transfer flight in VASTIM using as call sign NOR-9xxx, where xxx is Your PID. Just remember to e-mail a PIREP to us, and Your flight hourswill accumlate !. You can also some days earlier request for a charter flight for such a specific occasion, You will get a FPL, or if You do one in our standard RPL-format You will get bonus hours (doubble block-hours). Such a charter will be valid for one month and can be flown after You by anyone.

FINALLY !
This is all for You and us to live up to a dream of flying airliners according to real schedules with all that professionaslim and courtesy it means. We would like You to appreciate this in our community of lotīs other enthusiasts not only from NOR.
