The board of WVAR welcomes this very valuable input from the part of Mr. Korin to strengthen our professional work, and also the fact, that WVAR can dedicate one Director responsible for the North American issues of the register. Now both Americas and Europe are represented in the board of Directors, but the Asian part is also well handled through collabortive staff memebers of diffrent VAīs in that area.
WVAR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
STATEMENT
06 FEB 03 A new VA register has been founded, called "The VA Connection" which also now can be found at flightsim.com - We are strong believers that a good competition is always good for the user of such registers and we welcome any such initiatives. However we also feel that it is our obligation to say, that the founder of this new register Mr. John Finch, CEO of AeroLivewire was rejected by the WVAR as his position was that he did not need to fulfill the WVAR rules, and as he did not have it his way, he then started attacking the WVAR and the founders of the WVAR in a way that just shows a complete lack of normal education and behavior. We sincerely regret that the Virtual Airline community still has to deal with personnal attacks, and hate. The WVAR is proud of what it stands for, and we will continue to apply our registration rules equally to all applicants, without any exceptions.
WVAR ONE YEAR IN SERVICE

14 DEC 02 WORLD VIRTUAL AIRLINE REGISTER ONE YEAR SERVING THE VA COMMUNITY

An idea to create a serious and respected Worldwide Virtual Airline Register became a reality a year ago, specially after the unfortunate close down of the register that was available, at that time, at flightsim.com.

There were many doubts, specially as to the fact that it was two VA Groups, with many Virtual Airlines operated by themselves, that co-founded the WVAR, but through this year these doubts quickly vanished, based on the professionalism as to how every apllications for a Virtual Airline registration has been handled. In this connection, the board of Directors wants to express its sincere thanks to Mr. Hans Peter von Knorring for the good work he has carried out during this year.

It has not been a dance on roses all the time. There were moments where the WVAR came under attack from certain VA's, as the WVAR did not accept to give preference to certain VA's. We have all the time used the same rules to all applicants, even stricter to the VAīs of the groups that founded WVAR, demanding seriousness at to what the VA and its web site offer to itīs visitors, and of course all the FS fans. Have we found that a VA or itīs web site did no longer operate or no longer was up the the initial registration standard, it has been deleted from the register with a notification to the CEO if reachable. No doubt that the WVAR, today is considered a site where interested persons in Virtual Airline as a hobby, can obtain a broad view as to existing serious and good web sites and many many good Virtual Airlines.

That give us, the co-founders, a sincere satisfaction and shows that we have all the time acted as we proposed to act when founding the WVAR. We believe that 50.000 visitors in one year, agrees to that. Our thanks goes to all the Virtual Airline owners and CEO's that trusted the WVAR during 2002, our congratulations to all of You for the work that each of you daily put into Your VA and web site. As one VA expressed : "We are a proud member of the WVAR".

To all our members Our best SEASONS GREETINGS and a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!

NOTICE OF MEMBERSHIP

If no re-confirmation is received, the VA and/or the NON-VA will automatically be deleted from the register as per November 1st.

-------------------------

The Management of the WVAR again call the attention to all VA's and NON-VA's that they have the VIRTUAL AIRLINE NEWS PAGE at their disposition for any relevant information they would like to have published regarding their VA's. WVAR knows that information at this news page is a very good publicity as is being read by many visitors, so why not using it.
WVAR SPECIAL NOTICE
31 VAīS MOVED OUT FROM REGISTER
28 AUG 02 Having the management of WVAR verified the operational status of our registered VA's, this verification has unfortunately shown that 31 registered VA's are no longer operational, being it problems with the server or simply that the web site no longer is being taken care of.
The WVAR has now deleted these VA's from the register based the WVAR rules for registration and the verification carried out.
We also once more would like to point out, the obligation that registered VA's now have to re-confirm to the WVAR , each second month , that their registered VA and its respective web site continues to be operational. If the re-confirmation is not received, the VA will automatically be deleted from the register.
THE WVAR MEETING
06 AUG 02, BILLUND, DENMARK
27 AUG 02 The board meeting which took place in Billund/Denmark on august 6th, with the presence of the WVAR Directors from Finland and Ecuador was very usefull and many issues were discussed. The main issues were:
1) To maintain, and whenever possible, to improve the standard of the WVAR as a neutral and high standard register for the Virtual Airline World community.
2) To implement, as soon as possible, a more detailed page as to the requierements needed for a registration of a VA, as many applications are turned down, in first instance, as they do not fulfill the WVAR requierements.
3) To implement the following requierement for VA's to continue their registration: - Each VA must re-confirm each 2 months that their VA and their web site is fully operational. The first dead line will be October 30th. - VA's that have not re-confirmed latest this date, will automatically be deleted from the register. - This measure is necessary to maintain the high standard of the WVAR. It is of no ones interest to be part of a register with VA's no longer existing or not been taken care of.
4) The board finally expressed its thanks to all the registered VA's and their efforts to maintain the highest possible standards for the benefit of the Virtual Airline community and flight simulator fans around the world.
THE WVAR SUCCESS 14 JUN 02 The WORLD VIRTUAL AIRLINE REGISTER has been a success and have in these first 6 months of existence, accomplished an important role in the registration of Virtual Airlines worldwide. To many VA owners, it has given them the security as to their work, and certainly has also been a key factor as to the improvement of the respective web sites. This is also stressed by the fact that only 20% of the applications recieved meets the strict but professional cirterias of WVAR for registration at the WVAR site.

But all things can be improved, so it has been decided that a General Board meeting will take place in close to Billund Airport, Denmark on August 6th, with the participation of the Directors from Finland and Ecuador, in order to discuss further developments of the WVAR.

In this connection, we invite all the Virtual Airlines registered at WVAR, to forward to WVAR any comments, ideas and/or suggestions they might have as to improve the WVAR register, so that these ideas and/or suggestions can be discussed at the General Board meeting, and hopefully be approved and implemented. Any comments, ideas and/or suggestions should be recieved not later than July 15th. We look forward to hear from you.

ALL LINKS TO NEW WINDOW 28 DEC 01 In addition to a vast amount of new registered airlines, the big news of today is that all links for an airline open a separate window, the airlines do not thus reside in the main window of WVAR.
NEW PAGES OPENED 19 DEC 01 WVAR has evaluated certain applications from non-VA's , such as -VA Airports - , Virtual Air Force's , and others offering services as Pilot replacements and Catering at airports. WVAR has decided that if the application in General meets the Application Rules, it will be accepted, however, these Virtual Companies, cannot be listed in the VA sections, so WVAR is including in our Register section an additional page section covering - Non VA's - , where all Virtual related support companies to Airlines can be registered.
WVAR PAGES OPENED 12 DEC 01 On 12 DEC 01 WVAR PAGES ARE FULLY OPERATIONAL, some additional pages will be added later (maps, training, etc.)
