Robertoīs first contatct with FS was at 6 years old, when a friend installed a FS 4.0 in his Commodore 64. This meant also the start of the FS career with the Pa-28 default, and he has also been using it in other FS version later.

Both FS and that his father is involved in a senior position in a foreign airline operating to Chile, made Roberto also interssed of pursuing a real avation career. He has been flying since 2000, first got PPL, now has CPL/IFR, and is currently working on the multi-engine rating. He looks forward to be able to pursue a career either with LAN Chile, his national carrier or then some of the middle-east airlines like Emirates, Qatar, gulf, some to name.

MANY POSITIONS WITH NOR

Roberto has hold many positions with NOR. First he was VP South America, and devloped LAN Chile Virtual very much, which work his successor NOR9293 Matias Fuenzalida Eguiluz is continuing. Then Roberto was SVP for the whole NOR group, and after some leave became COO Qatar Airways, and now VP middle-east (not including Egypt) and also COO Brunei Virtual Airlines.

When asked what does he like of an idea of "job rotation" with NOR, he wishes to Thank You the CEO for giving him the possibilty of having many jobs, and sees that it is a pleasure to work with different repsonsible jobs. Also the changing of them from time-to-time has meant that he has been able to give new ideas. Also to meet other cultures thus amongst the pilots is very giving. New generations can, if they pursue somekind of rotation-career with NOR, give a lot to this kind of multi-national group that NOR is, summarises Roberto.
DEVELOPING NOR

Two major areas need sin Robertoīs opinon to be more developed. Operations briefing and Human Resources.

In Operations briefing, he thinks the FPLīs we have already should be linked to the server, and also new done so that we would have for all routes ready FPLīs. Then the area of training needs more attention, like manuals, tutorials, checklists. But this is a huge work as NOR pratically have all airliner models that are in use. But for the pilot it would be a valuable addition so that he could handle allways correct the aircraft he is flying. Third of this area is try to get more pilots fly on-line with either VATISM or IVAO.

The Human Resources Section needs also to be developed, especially the pirep handling even if it now has a form. But as the rest is done manually, what requires lot of work. If not automated, then somekind of organization could be implemented.

SOME FINAL WORDS

When asked what airlines Roberto prefers, he answers that at the moment the middle-east ones, but also BCAL, the JVAL-gorup, and LAN Chile. Especially he whises that NOR will implement more airlines in the middle east.

Roberto ends this interview with saying: Fly high and safe, go Nordic ...go!!!
